The White House criticized Donald Trump for using what they called fascist-like language. They were not happy with his statement where he said immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.” Basically, they thought he was using dangerous and divisive rhetoric that goes against American values and democracy.
Trump also quoted Russian President Putin at a political rally in New Hampshire. The White House accused him of “praising dictators.” Trump used Putin’s words to claim that the criminal indictments against him were politically motivated persecution.
His political rivals and even some in his own party criticized him for this. Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie said Trump was “becoming crazier,” and Senator Lindsey Graham didn’t seem bothered, saying he cares more about getting immigration policy right.
Biden, who is the current president, has been directly attacking Trump, portraying him as a threat to democracy. In response to Trump’s comments, the White House emphasized the responsibility of leaders to unite the country, rather than spreading hate and threatening core freedoms. They see Trump’s words as harmful and divisive, especially with the upcoming presidential election.
