Once again Netizens have raised the much debated topic of nepotism in the wake of a viral video of Aaradhya Bachchan. She is a student of Dhirubhai Ambani International School and is the daughter of Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai and actor Abhishek Bachchan. On the eve of December 15, an annual function was held in her school where she was seen delivering dialogues in English in what appeared to be a musical play.
The annual day was a star-studded affair with Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor gracing the function with their attendance.
Various star-kids took part in the function such as superstar SRK-fashion designer Gauri’s son Abram Khan, Kareen Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan’s son Taimur and Karan Johar’s twins Yash and Roohi. The videos of the parents recording their kids’ performance have been making rounds on social media. And one such clip that went viral is of Aaradhya’s performance.
Surprisingly, aside from the trolling of her “revealed forehead”, she has garnered much appreciation with respect to her performance. Let’s read what the users of X had to say:
Divya Gandotra Tandon praised, “I vividly recall my first and last stage performance during my school days in 1st standard. I struggled with stage fear and lacked confidence. Today, it amazes me to see #AaradhyaBachchan performing on stage flawlessly, without any hesitation or mistakes.”
Another user Gomzee expressed, “All Archies nepo kids feel shame after watching Aaradhya Bachchan daughter of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.”
Terriblysarcastic wrote, “She can seriously act! Like remembering those lines and performing it in front of 1,000 plus people, she is (fire) ! The whole Archies cast must take lessons from her and she looks so beautiful without that bangs.”
Appreciating her performance, another user Aruj Singh wrote, “Look at #AaradhyaBachchan confidence. She owns the stage & is also emoting quite well for her age. Nice dialogue delivery too, no under-confident whispering. When she grows up she will have the best facial features. Glad she got her mother’s eyes.”

The praises didn’t stop there. Aishwarya Rai, the proud mama, was seen recording her daughter’s performance with nothing but sheer pride reflecting in her eyes. Additionally, Big B took to his blog and wrote, “I shall be with you shortly… busy getting over the Concert at Aaradhya’s school and her performance… such a delight and a moment of pride for all of us… a complete natural on stage the little one – well not little anymore…”
Nepotism in Bollywood has been a longstanding problem with mediocre talent at best carrying famous surnames bagging the big opportunities. The talented artists, on the other hand, are either left to struggle and never make it to the big screen. Or spend the entire length of their career playing the comical best friend to a nepo-kid who scored the lead role because apparently his dad is friends’ with the director.
