In the latest developments in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) continued their offensive against the militant group on Thursday night. The IDF reported that soldiers discovered and destroyed rocket launchers and weapons used by Hamas in various locations.
In the central Gaza village of Jahar al-Dikh, IDF troops located a Hamas weapons warehouse. Additionally, they identified rocket launchers that had been used in recent attacks on Israel. An airstrike was carried out to destroy these launchers.
In Gaza City, Israeli forces operating in the area discovered a significant number of weapons, including mortars and explosives, inside a house located near a kindergarten. Another nearby house revealed a rocket launcher aimed at Israel, along with a ready-to-fire rocket-propelled grenade on a windowsill.
Soldiers in Khan Yunis uncovered a substantial cache of weapons, including military uniforms, explosive charges, weapons, cartridges, and combat equipment, inside a residential home.
An Air Force fighter jet, guided by ground forces, targeted a Hamas terrorist placing explosive charges and struck a terror squad posing a threat to Israelis. Engineering forces also destroyed a tunnel route used by terrorists to launch attacks.
In the past two days, IDF forces conducted raids on a school on the outskirts of Al Shati in northern Gaza, where Hamas squads operated. Soldiers found weapons, cartridges, and maps belonging to Hamas, based on intelligence guidance.
The recent actions follow the IDF’s announcement that it had completed the takeover of northern Gaza’s Shejaiya district.
The conflict has taken a toll on both sides, with at least 1,200 people reported killed in Hamas attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. The number of captives held by Hamas is currently believed to be 129, while others remain unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.
