Jagiroad Paper Mill Issue Solved
CM Himanta remarked the closure of Jagiroad Paper Mill in an unfortunate way was painful for the government as well as the people.
The incumbent government, despite knowing the financial situation, made efforts to build the Jagiroad Paper Mill (related to the paper mills of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited in Jagiroad and Cachar) with indomitable courage and allocated a sum of Rs 810 crore.
The allocated fund was used to mitigate multiple problems like compensation to the affected mill workers.
The CM said the authorities “were able to take historic decisions until many young men and women from these paper mills were provided government jobs in Assam.”
Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Promises for Other Development Works
An amount of Rs 50 crore will be spent to develop a modern drainage system for Jagiroad town to change its image.

He acknowledged the State’s unprecedented levels of developmental activities for the past few years. The authorities are on the right path to fulfil promise of providing jobs under the Assam Government Sector to 1 lakh youth of the State, he concluded.
