In honor of the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today is celebrated as Good Governance Day. Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi highlighted the importance of this day and recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious vision to transform Bharat into a developed nation by 2047.
Lekhi emphasized the significance of recognizing and respecting Bharat’s rich traditions in achieving Prime Minister Modi’s vision. She underscored the importance of making proper use of places like libraries, emphasizing that India’s historical prowess in knowledge is a key asset in propelling the nation forward.
During the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi. The memorial stands as a tribute to the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a Bharat Ratna awardee and a revered figure in Bharat politics.
Several prominent leaders, including former President Ram Nath Kovind, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and others, joined in offering floral tributes to commemorate the occasion.
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Foundation organized a special event in celebration of the iconic leader’s birth anniversary. Simultaneously, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to host various events across the country, marking the 99th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, coinciding with Good Governance Day. The emphasis is on preserving and reviving Bharat’s cultural traditions to propel the nation towards progress and development.
