Adani Energy Solutions, a leading private transmission and distribution company, has recently joined forces with UAE-based Esyasoft Holdings to implement smart metering projects in India and beyond. The joint venture, with Adani holding a 49% stake and Esyasoft with 51%, is set to operate under the name Adani Esyasoft Smart Solutions Ltd.
This collaboration is facilitated through Adani Energy Solutions’ subsidiary, Adani Transmission Step-Four Limited, which acquired the stake in Esyasoft’s smart metering solutions arm. The move not only enhances the partnership between Adani and Abu Dhabi’s International Holding Company (IHC) but also positions Adani Esyasoft Smart Solutions to bid for and execute both Indian and global smart metering orders.
Esyasoft, known for its cloud and IoT-based energy management solutions, brings a wealth of expertise to the joint venture. The company serves major entities in India, the UAE, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, catering to Indian discoms, Scottish Gas, and UAE-based utilities.
Esyasoft’s product offerings cover a wide range of smart utility solutions, including meter data management, peak load management, energy audit, billing and collection, big data analytics, and more. With a strong emphasis on intellectual property, Esyasoft is well-positioned to contribute to the seamless national rollout of smart metering initiatives.
Kandarp Patel, CEO of Adani Energy Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the joint venture’s ability to provide critical and integrated solutions for the national and international smart metering landscape. Adani Energy Solutions already boasts an order book of approximately two crore smart meters from various power distributing companies.
The smart metering business in India presents significant growth opportunities, with an expected market size catering to about 25 crore premises. Adani Energy Solutions aims to tap into this potential, with the current order book covering projects with power distributing companies such as BEST Mumbai, Maharashtra discom, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam.
In conclusion, the Adani Esyasoft Smart Solutions joint venture signifies a strategic move to strengthen Adani’s position in the smart metering sector, leveraging the expertise of both companies to address the growing demand for advanced energy management solutions in India and internationally.
