In a heart-wrenching incident, a bus collision with a dumper truck on the Guna-Aron road in Guna claimed 12 lives on Wednesday night. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, expressed deep sorrow over the accident and has taken immediate action. He assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and strict measures would be implemented against those responsible.
The Chief Minister said “It is a sad incident. I am in constant contact with the District Collector and SP. I am visiting Guna right now. It is a heart-breaking incident, and we will try to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.”
Yadav announced the initiation of a comprehensive inquiry into the matter. He emphasized the need to gather information about the bus’s permit and the circumstances leading to the tragic accident. The Chief Minister pledged that strict actions would be taken against individuals found accountable for the incident.
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, Yadav said, “I am with the families of all the deceased in this hour of grief. We have our sympathies for the injured. We are hopeful that the administration will make arrangements to ensure that no such incident happens again.”
According to the police report, the bus, en route from Guna to Aron, collided with a dumper at a high speed, resulting in a fire. The accident occurred at 8:30 pm, with approximately 30 passengers on board. Tragically, 12 lives were lost, and 14 others sustained injuries, being promptly taken to the district hospital.
Guna Superintendent of Police, Vijay Kumar Khatri, provided details of the incident, stating, “It crashed into a dumper at top speed. We recovered 12 bodies from the scene while 14 injured passengers were rushed to the district hospital.”
Earlier remarks from Guna District Collector, Tarun Rathi, highlighted the immediate focus on recovering bodies and ensuring proper treatment for the injured. “Around 14 people are admitted to the Guna District Hospital. Prima facie, a dumper and bus collided on the Guna-Aron route resulting in the bus catching fire. Our priority is to recover the bodies and treatment of the injured…Further investigation is underway,” he said earlier. The authorities are committed to a thorough investigation and are determined to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
