Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant moment in Ayodhya as he inaugurated two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat Express trains from the recently redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station. The event was celebrated amidst the festive atmosphere in Ayodhya, coinciding with the upcoming consecration of the grand Ram Temple on January 22.
Amrit Bharat Express: A New Era of Comfortable Travel
Among the trains flagged off, the Amrit Bharat Express stands out as a new category of superfast passenger trains, featuring the LHB push-pull technology. Notably, these trains boast non-air-conditioned coaches, emphasizing affordability. The Amrit Bharat trains come equipped with locos at both ends for enhanced acceleration and improved passenger facilities.
Enhanced Facilities for Rail Passengers
Passengers on Amrit Bharat trains can expect a range of amenities, including beautifully designed seats, improved luggage racks, mobile charging points with suitable holders, LED lights, CCTV surveillance, and a public information system. These enhancements aim to provide a more comfortable and modern travel experience.
Vande Bharat Express Routes and Features
The six Vande Bharat Express trains flagged off by Prime Minister Modi cover diverse routes:
- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi
- Amritsar-Delhi
- Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt
- Mangalore-Madgaon
- Jalna-Mumbai
- Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal
These high-speed trains are designed to offer efficient connectivity, with the latest technology and amenities for passengers.
Rail Infrastructure Boost: Three Projects Inaugurated
In addition to the new train services, Prime Minister Modi dedicated three railway projects worth ₹2,300 crore to strengthen rail infrastructure in the region. These projects include the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, various sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project, and the doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section.
Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express Inaugural Run
The Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express had its inaugural run virtually flagged off by Prime Minister Modi. The 8-coach service is expected to depart from Jalna at 11 am and reach Mumbai at 6:45 pm. The regular schedule, starting from January 1, will see the train departing from CSMT at 1:10 pm and reaching Jalna at 8:30 pm, enhancing connectivity between these two key locations.
These initiatives mark a significant step towards improving rail connectivity, passenger comfort, and overall infrastructure in the region, contributing to the nation’s development.
