Arunachal Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone by providing 98 per cent of its households with potable tap water connections under centrally sponsored scheme Jal Jeevan Mission or JJM, announced Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
This significant development, aimed at ensuring safe and adequate drinking water across rural Bharat through individual household tap connections by 2024, incorporates multiple sustainability measures.
Grey water management, water conservation, and rainwater harvesting are among the few. Collective approaches to water management, communication, integrating extensive information, education, are the mission’s pivotal parts.
Expressing his government’s commitment to society’s welfare, CM Khandu ensured of bridging the remaining 2 per cent gap, with the objective of reaching 100 per cent coverage in the near future. The scheme’s success demonstrates the resolute efforts of Team Arunachal, which leveraged in attaining this noteworthy feat.
