After a debilitating week post the new year, Japan suffered through another major earthquake in its central region, but there have been no Tsunami warning has been issued.
The Earthquake struck off the Sea of Japan coast, rattling the same part of the country where a huge tremor on New Year’s day and its aftershocks caused widespread destruction, killing more than 200 people.
The death toll from the earthquake which occurred on New Year’s Day has risen to 202 people up from the previously reported 180 with number of those unaccounted for decreasing 120 to 102.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached out to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and expressed his condolences to the deceased and the next of their kin. Responding to the same Japanese ambassador to India Hiroshi Suzuki has said he is grateful for condolences, prayers and warm encouragement from India regarding the Noto Earthquake in Japan.
