A significant event is set to unfold in Ayodhya from January 14-25, as organizers announced a grand yagya to mark the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. The ‘Raam Naam Maha Yagya’ will take place, featuring the establishment of 1008 shivalingas in Ayodhya. The first phase of the temple is nearing completion, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the consecration ceremony on January 22.
A sprawling tent city spanning 100 acres has been erected on the ghat of Saryu River, located 2 km away from the Ram temple. This venue will serve as the focal point for the elaborate celebrations.
The yagya will be led and organized by Atmanand Das Mahatyagi, also known as ‘Nepali Baba.’ According to organizers, 21,000 priests from Nepal are set to participate in the event, highlighting the widespread participation and significance of the ceremony.
To accommodate the large influx of devotees, arrangements have been made to host 50 thousand devotees daily. Additionally, a feast is planned, capable of feeding about 1 lakh devotees each day.
Post the ‘maha yagya,’ the 1008 shivlingas will be immersed in the Saryu River, symbolizing the conclusion of the sacred rituals.
The festivities are scheduled to commence on January 14 with the head-shaving ceremony of the hosts. The havan, a sacred fire ritual, will commence on January 17 with the chanting of 24,000 verses of the Ramayana, continuing until January 25.
Nepali Baba shared insights into his connection with Ayodhya, stating, “We are not originally from Nepal; we are residents of Ayodhya. I was born in the temple town and later shifted to Nepal. The king of Nepal named me Nepali Baba.” For the carving of the shivlingas, stones have been sourced from the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh.
As the date of the consecration ceremony approaches, the preparations and arrangements for this grand celebration underscore the cultural and spiritual significance attached to the construction and consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
