In a sharp exchange of words, Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar responded to Opposition MP Rahul Gandhi’s criticism, stating that the Congress leader lives in his own “la-la” world. Chandrasekhar dismissed Gandhi’s attempts to define the beliefs of the ruling party, asserting that the people of Bharat understand the truth and see through what he called “atrocious lies.”
Chandrasekhar’s comments were triggered by Rahul Gandhi’s recent remark during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, where he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of turning the upcoming January 22nd function into a political event centered around Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a conversation with news agency ANI, Chandrasekhar criticized Gandhi for claiming that the aim of the Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is social, economic, and political justice. The BJP leader countered by highlighting the alleged injustices perpetrated by the Congress during their 65 years in power, asserting that significant strides towards poverty alleviation were made only after PM Modi came to office.
Chandrasekhar also took aim at Gandhi’s statement about those with public relations with religion, stating, “Our faith is a matter of our beliefs,” and asserting that attempts by Rahul Gandhi to define these beliefs would be unsuccessful. He emphasized that the people do not need Gandhi to interpret how they should practice their faith and beliefs.
Responding to Gandhi’s claim that the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony has become a BJP-RSS function, Chandrasekhar argued that the Congress rejected the invitation for political reasons. He highlighted that the event, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, has been turned into a political function by BJP.
As the political sparring continues, the exchange between Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Rahul Gandhi underscores the ongoing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition, with each side presenting divergent views on the upcoming event and the political landscape in Bharat.
