In a unique move, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo, Mamata Banerjee, announced that she will lead an interfaith rally across Kolkata on January 22, the same day as the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The rally, starting from Kali Mandir, will pass through various places of worship, including mosques, temples, churches, and gurdwaras. Banerjee emphasized the inclusive nature of the rally, inviting people of all faiths to join. She will offer prayers at Kali Mandir before the interfaith procession from Hazra to Park Circus maidan, where a meeting will be held.
Addressing the diverse religious landscape, Banerjee stated, “Religion is personal, festival is universal,” indicating her commitment to the idea of unity in diversity. Alongside the interfaith rally, TMC party members are set to hold simultaneous rallies in every block and district at 3 pm on the same day.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Temple is scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla. The ceremony will span seven days, starting on January 16. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended invitations to thousands of VIP guests nationwide for the event.
As part of the grand celebration, the Trust has made elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor the guests, presenting them with special gifts, including ‘Ram Raj.’ The attendees will also receive ‘Prasad’ in the form of special ‘Motichoor laddus’ made from desi ghee. Notably, more than 11,000 guests have been invited, and arrangements are in place to ensure a memorable experience for each attendee.
A member of the Trust shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presented with a 15-meter picture of the Ram temple enclosed in a jute bag featuring an image of the sacred structure. The event is expected to be a significant moment in India’s cultural and religious landscape, bringing together leaders and followers from various communities.
