Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is abuzz with preparations for the upcoming grand ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at the newly constructed temple. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath actively participated in a program in Lucknow where clothes made for Lord Ram were offered. These garments were crafted with the assistance of over 12 lakh devotees associated with the Heritage Handweaving Revival Charitable Trust.
In a recent event, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed his enthusiasm for the festivities, stating that Ayodhya will resonate with soulful Sankirtan in the name of ‘Ram,’ accompanied by the lighting of earthen lamps and a Deepotsav celebration. He emphasized the historical and cultural significance of Ayodhya, connecting it to age-old traditions mentioned in the Vedas. Ayodhya, he declared, will now be open to devotees for darshan, promising a shift from the city’s turbulent past to a future filled with festivals and cultural celebrations.
Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering support in realizing the dream of a grand Ram Temple. He credited Modi’s relentless efforts and guidance for bringing an end to the 500-year-long wait for the construction of the temple. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude as the countdown to the temple’s opening continues.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi, who is set to inaugurate the Ram Temple on January 22, spoke about the profound impact of Lord Ram’s life and inspiration, extending beyond mere devotion. Modi noted that the entire country is steeped in devotion ahead of the Pran Pratishtha event, emphasizing Lord Ram as a symbol of good governance in social life.
Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony began a week before the main event in Ayodhya. Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, announced that the temple will be open for public ‘darshan’ from January 23. The ceremony is expected to conclude by 1 pm on January 22, with PM Modi and other dignitaries expressing their thoughts after the event. Tradition dictates that gifts in 1,000 baskets have arrived from Nepal’s Janakpur and Mithila areas, adding to the festive spirit. On January 20 and 21, darshan will be closed to the public. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is observing an 11-day special ritual and fasting in anticipation of the Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
