In a historic moment eagerly awaited by devotees for centuries, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to take place on January 22. CM Dhami expressed the significance of this event, stating that after 500 years, Ram Bhakts and people across the country are finally going to witness this beautiful moment.
The idol of Lord Ram, intricately sculpted by Arun Yogiraj, was recently placed inside the Sanctum Santorum of the temple during a ceremony. The first photo of the idol, veiled for the occasion, was revealed, marking a crucial step towards the completion of the long-anticipated Ram Temple.
CM Dhami acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by individuals who dedicated their youth and lives for the realization of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He emphasized the collective effort of the people of Uttarakhand, contributing to the preparations for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony through initiatives like cleanliness drives, Deepotsav preparations, and the singing of Ram Bhajans.
To ensure widespread participation in this historic event, the Uttarakhand government has declared a half-day holiday for all government offices and educational institutions in the state, with closure extending until 2:30 pm on January 22. This decision aims to allow employees to engage in the celebration of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.
The Central Government has also followed suit, announcing a half-day holiday for all its offices and institutions. Consequently, public sector banks will remain closed for half of the day. Several state governments have additionally declared a holiday for their employees on January 22, 2024, encouraging participation in the celebrations for the momentous occasion.
As the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony approaches, the Uttarakhand police have implemented robust security measures to maintain communal harmony and law and order in the state. AP Anshuman, Additional Director General of Police, Crime and Law and Order in Uttarakhand, has issued instructions to all district police in-charges, commanders, and superintendents to ensure strong police arrangements and a secure environment during the upcoming ceremony and Republic Day celebrations.
