In a significant ceremony on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed humility and celebration while attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. As part of the event, the Prime Minister showered flower petals on the dedicated construction workers who played a crucial role in building the temple.
During the ceremony, PM Modi not only sprinkled flowers on the idol of Jatayu at the temple premises but also offered prayers to Lord Shiva in Ayodhya Dham. Addressing dignitaries present, he remarked that the unveiling of the Ram Lalla idol marked not just a moment of triumph but also a reflection of Bharat society’s maturity.
PM Modi highlighted the historical significance, stating that the construction of the temple, once believed to potentially “set off a firestorm,” is now a symbol of peace, patience, harmony, and the integration of the country. He reminisced about a time when people expressed concerns that the temple’s construction might lead to unrest, emphasizing that the reality has been quite the opposite.
“There was also a time when some people used to say ‘Ram Mandir bana toh aag lag jaegi’ (the construction of the temple will set off a firestorm). Such people could not understand the purity of India’s social spirit. The construction of this temple of Ram Lalla is also a symbol of peace, patience, mutual harmony, and coordination of the Indian society,” the Prime Minister asserted.
PM Modi further expressed that Ayodhya’s temple is a representation of national consciousness in the form of Lord Ram. He emphasized that the temple’s construction has not resulted in any conflict but has, instead, given rise to positive energy.
During the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the Ram Lalla idol was unveiled after an hour-long ritual, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the proceedings. He walked inside the temple premises with a silver ‘chattar’ (umbrella) placed on a red folded dupatta. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Devotees and guests enthusiastically chanted ‘Jai Sri Ram’ as the ceremony unfolded, underscoring the joyous and harmonious atmosphere surrounding the historic occasion.
