In a momentous ceremony held on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the idol of Ram Lalla at the newly-constructed temple, proclaiming it as a symbol of national consciousness. Addressing the gathered audience, PM Modi emphasized that the event marked the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of human values and highest ideals.
According to the Prime Minister, Lord Ram is not just a figure of faith but also the foundation, essence, and glory of India. He described the devotees of Lord Ram as completely absorbed in this historic and holiest of moments, as the temple represents national consciousness in the form of Ram.
PM Modi highlighted the eternal significance of honoring Lord Ram, stating that its impact extends beyond years or centuries, reaching thousands of years. He expressed gratitude to the judiciary for resolving the legal dispute over Ram Janambhoomi in Ayodhya, emphasizing that the temple was built in a just manner.
Referring to the date, January 22, 2024, PM Modi declared it as the origin of a new time cycle, marking a significant milestone in Indian history. He acknowledged the maturity of Indian society and posed a question about the future after the temple’s construction, stating that the foundation for Bharat’s next thousand years must be laid.
The Prime Minister urged everyone to recognize the responsibility bestowed upon the current generation as architects of a timeless path, emphasizing that future generations will remember their efforts in nation-building. He noted that this is the right time to shape the destiny of Bharat for the next millennium.
PM Modi acknowledged the deep feelings of Ram devotees across the country and the world, stating that after centuries of waiting, sacrifices, and penance, Lord Ram has finally arrived. He called the moment divine and the holiest of all, expressing his confidence that Lord Ram would forgive any shortcomings in the delay in constructing the temple.
As part of the ceremony, PM Modi sought forgiveness from Lord Ram and participated in the ‘Pran Pratishtha ceremony,’ walking into the temple premises with a silver umbrella. The event was attended by prominent figures like RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ resonating during the rituals.
