4. On January 24, 1966, the father of the Bharatiya nuclear program, Homi Jahangir Bhabha, met a tragic end in a plane crash. The Air Bharat plane, en route from Mumbai to New York, crashed in the Alps mountain range of Europe, claiming 117 lives, including Bhabha’s. Born on October 30, 1909, in a Parsi family in Mumbai, Homi Bhabha’s influential personality earned him the title of Bharat’s Leonardo da Vinci by CV Raman. While conspiracy theories surrounded his death, it is believed that the American intelligence agency may have played a role in ending Bhabha’s life, seen as a potential threat to Bharat’s nuclear energy program.

5. On January 24, 2002, ISRO successfully launched the Bharatiya satellite INSAT-3C through Arianespace. Part of the INSAT-3 series, INSAT-3C, a multipurpose satellite, played a crucial role with coverage in Bharat provided by its transponder. Controlled from the Master Control Facility in Hassan, Karnataka, this satellite became an essential component of Bharat’s space capabilities.
