In a spectacular display on the 75th Republic Day, four Mi-17 IV helicopters from the 105 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals on the audience at Kartavya Path in the national capital. The helicopters, flying in a ‘spearhead’ formation, added a touch of elegance to the festivities. Leading the flypast was Wing Commander AV Agashe, the Commanding Officer of the 105 Helicopter Unit, alongside Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal. Trooping the national flag and the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force flags were distinguished officers, contributing to the patriotic fervor of the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings, expressing, “Best wishes on the special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!” The ceremonial event also saw President Droupadi Murmu leading the country in commemorating its journey during the Amrit Kaal, following the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of independence.
This year’s Republic Day parade showcased Viksit Bharat’s rich cultural diversity, ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military prowess, and the growing Nari Shakti. The parade, spanning 90 minutes, had French President Emmanuel Macron as the Chief Guest, adding an international touch to the celebrations.
The parade, based on the twin themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,’ featured around 13,000 special guests. This inclusive initiative aimed to encourage people from all walks of life to participate in the celebrations, fostering Jan Bhagidari in the national festival. The parade highlighted the nation’s defense forces through mighty cavalcades, state-of-the-art equipment displays, marches of contingents, and a vibrant showcase of diverse cultures symbolizing unity in the nation’s diversity.
The day commenced with PM Modi visiting the National War Memorial, where he led the nation in paying solemn tributes to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath. The entire event showcased a perfect blend of solemnity, patriotism, and celebration, encapsulating the spirit of the 75th Republic Day.
