K Vadivel, MV Rathnam, R Chinnaswamy, PS Kandasamy and a few others were welcomed by Annamalai, who said that the leaders bring ‘wealth of experience’ and want to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he gears up for another third term as the Prime Minister of Bharat.

Annamalai also said the leaders have seen things happening in Tamil Nadu after which they had taken the decision, in a subtle jibe to the ruling DMK and main opposition AIADMK in the state. “Tamil Nadu is going the Bharatiya Janata Party way,” he added confidently.

Union Minister  Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the joining of the leaders at such a big scale shows Modi’s popularity in a state like Tamil Nadu, where BJP does not have a strong foothold.  He said that when BJP wins 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha and the NDA crosses 400, many of these new seats will come from Tamil Nadu.

While expressing confidence in the BJP, he said that every citizen of India wants change brought in by the last 10 years to continue.
