Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting West Bengal on 6th March, 2024, according to the media reports. Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah, is also likely to visit the state on February 29.
From Darjeeling and Siliguri to Kolkata, protestors have blocked the roads and demanded a special investigation into the case.
BJP President JP Nadda formed a fact-finding team which headed to Sandeshkhali to prepare a report of women out of testimonies who suffered atrocities of TMC leaders.
But, they were stopped in the mid-way by the police. A Congress delegation led by state chief Adhir Ranjan Choudhary was also denied entry to Sandeshkhali.
The Supreme Court on Friday acknowledged a PIL seeking a court-monitored CBI or SIT investigation into the violence in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali village.
The PIL was mentioned for serious listing before a bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra.

BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul stated, “It shows how scared Mamata Banerjee and her government are. Section 144 has been imposed, we were told that only 5 people to go but we were not allowed. Then we said only 2 ministers will be going but they are still not being allowed to go”.
