In the latest, the United States Military conducted a cyberattack against an Iranian spy ship which operated near the Chinese military base in Djibouti.
The name of the ship is MV Behshad, which had reportedly been collecting information on cargo vessels in the Red Sea and telling about the same to the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
According to the media reports, ‘Three officials quoted that the cyberattack was in retaliation to the drone attack by Iran-backed militias that killed three US service members in Jordan and wounded many people.
The operation aimed to disrupt the Iranian military ship’s capability to transfer intelligence to Houthi militants in Yemen. The Iran-aligned Houthi group, which holds control over the regions of Yemen, has been deploying explosive drones and missiles targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
The attacks on commercial vessels by Houthi militants have caused disturbances in trade routes between Asia and Europe. The United States military has launched strikes targeting the Houthi group. The cyberattack by the United States on an Iranian military ship shows tensions in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, where Houthi militants have been conducting attacks on commercial vessels.
The US officially has not disclosed the information about the cyberattack, in line with the USA’s policy to not talk about operations publicly.
