The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its efforts ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, aiming to secure over 370 seats. To kickstart this strategy, the ruling party has organized a two-day national convention at Bharat Mandapam scheduled for February 17-18. With over 11,000 delegates, including national and state-ranked office-bearers, in attendance, the convention aims to strategize and rally support for the BJP’s electoral ambitions.

The convention begins with a crucial meeting of the BJP’s national office bearers on February 17, expected to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Commencing at 9:30 am, this meeting sets the tone for the subsequent proceedings. At 3:00 pm, BJP National President JP Nadda will deliver his presidential address, marking the official start of the convention. With approximately 11,000 representatives present, discussions and deliberations will be aimed at charting the party’s course for the upcoming elections.

Key figures within the BJP and its affiliated bodies will be in attendance, including general secretaries, cell convenors, and representatives from various administrative levels across the country. The convention will witness the participation of National Executive members, National Council office bearers, and district-level functionaries, reflecting the comprehensive representation within the party’s ranks.

The agenda for the convention includes the passage of two resolutions, touching upon political, economic, and social aspects. Topics such as the consecration of Ram Lalla in the Ayodhya Ram temple, women’s reservation, and the government’s initiatives for the welfare of marginalized sections are expected to be deliberated upon. Additionally, the BJP aims to highlight achievements in sectors like space exploration, defence, and healthcare, including successes such as the Chandrayaan Mission and the COVID-19 vaccination drive.

In anticipation of the convention, BJP National President JP Nadda inaugurated an exhibition showcasing the party’s achievements and vision. This exhibition serves as a precursor to the discussions and decisions that will unfold during the two-day gathering.

As the BJP convenes to strategize and consolidate support, all eyes are on the outcomes of the national convention. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi slated to deliver the closing address on February 18, the event holds significant importance in shaping the party’s trajectory leading up to the Lok Sabha elections.
