In a serious development, the Ministry of Defence announced on Thursday that Pakistan tried to attack several military locations in India during the night of May 7-8. According to the statement, the attack was carried out using drones and missiles.

The Pakistani attempt targeted important military areas in the northern and western parts of India. The list includes places like Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. However, India was fully prepared. The strong response from India’s Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems stopped these attacks successfully.

The Ministry also confirmed that debris collected from the attack sites has clearly shown that Pakistan was behind the attacks. In response to this provocation, the Indian armed forces acted swiftly and strongly. On the morning of May 8, Indian forces carried out precise strikes against Pakistani air defence systems.

In a statement, the Ministry said, “Today morning Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised.”

While this was happening, Pakistan also increased unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Areas like Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri witnessed heavy mortar and artillery shelling from the Pakistani side. This has led to the tragic deaths of 16 innocent civilians, including 3 women and 5 children. India had no choice but to step in and stop these aggressive actions to protect its citizens.

In another important update, satellite images have shown the results of India’s powerful strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These precision strikes were carried out under “Operation Sindoor” on Wednesday night. The operation was India’s response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which had claimed 26 lives.

The satellite images, released by Maxar Technologies, clearly show the destruction caused at various terrorist training and command centres. Key locations like Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur and Muridke have suffered visible damage. Before-and-after photos prove how effective the Indian strikes were.

Operation Sindoor was carefully planned and executed between 1:04 am and 1:30 am. According to Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who addressed the media, the targets were chosen based on highly reliable intelligence inputs. The main aim was to destroy the infrastructure used by terrorists and send a strong message that such attacks on Indian soil will not be tolerated.

India has made it clear that while it stands for peace, it will not hesitate to defend its people and territory. The recent events show that India remains alert and capable of handling any threats from across the border.
