Young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’, played by ‘Suhani Bhatnagar’ had died on February 16 in Delhi and she was just 19.

Bhatnagar developed a side effect from medication after suffering a fracture in the leg. Aamir Khan’s production house confirmed her death.

A note posted by Aamir Khan’s production house on Instagram can be read, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani.” The note ended with, “Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts May you rest in peace (sic).”

According to the media reports, Suhani had suffered a leg fracture, and the medication led to a side effect which she received during the treatment. It’s reported that her body started keeping fluid, which can be the reason behind her untimely death. But the official confirmation on the same is awaited.

Suhani was admitted to AIIMS hospital in Delhi for quite some time for her treatment. Notably, her last rites will take place on Saturday. Suhani became a household name as she played a young Babita Kumari Phogat in the 2016 film, ‘Dangal’. She shared screen space with Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, and Zaira Wasim. She was also a part of a few commercials.
