He stressed that a solution can be found only through continued dialogue. Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait stated, ‘This movement will continue, and a solution can be found only through dialogue’. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) will meet tomorrow and decide on the future action.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh stated, ‘Let us think over it, we will speak after that” on Agriculture minister Arjun Munda’s invite to protesting farmers for a fifth round of discussion on problems including minimum support price.
Former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank lauded the laws implemented by the government for the advantage of farmers as commendable. He also added, ‘Today the farmers are getting direct pensions, which seemed impossible earlier’.
United States-based pro-Khalistani-banned outfit Sikhs for Justice attempted Sunday to exploit the situation by urging protesting farmers to arm themselves with weapons and participate in violence.
Haryana Police said, “As per the information received so far, no farmer has died today. This is just a rumour. There is information about two policemen and one protestor being injured at Data Singh-Khanori border’.
