In present-day Bharat, a segment of society dismisses incidents of Grooming Jihad, communal violence against Hindus, and forced conversions to Islam as unfounded, attributing them to a supposed ‘majoritarian’ bias. These Islamists view Bharat as Dar-ul-Harb, a land of war that must be transformed into Da-ul-Islam, a land of Islam, with the conversion of Hindus considered crucial.
Recent events in Maharashtra, particularly in Mumbai’s Mira Road-Bhayander region, have seen a surge in such incidents, with Hindu women being trapped, assaulted, and coerced into conversion by Islamists. This area, with its Muslim-majority population, has become a hotspot for ‘Grooming Jihad’ and religious conversions, often marked by attacks on Hindus during significant events like the Ram Mandir inauguration.
Here, we present 15 cases of community crimes from the Mira Road-Bhayander region, highlighting instances where Islamists have been implicated in forcefully converting Hindu victims to Islam over the past year.

The Sakal Hindu Samaj members, highlighted the dominance of the Muslim majority population in the Mira Road region of Mumbai. According to them, what was once a Hindu-dominated area has seen a significant demographic shift in recent years, with Muslims migrating from regions like Mumbra and other cities and claiming dominance. This influx has led to deliberate harassment of Hindus, including disturbing their businesses, harassing their daughters, and even extorting ransom money from them. Consequently, many Hindus have chosen to migrate to other regions of Mumbai and Thane to escape the growing tensions.
In the neighboring Bhayander area, which still retains a Hindu majority, Pratap Deokate, another Hindu activist, highlighted how Muslims deliberately target Hindu businessmen. They do so by installing hawkers in prohibited areas, effectively blocking access to Hindu shops for potential customers. This tactic is often followed by attempts to entrap the daughters of Hindu shopkeepers, leading to instances of Love Jihad. Deokate emphasized the need for stringent laws against Love Jihad and urged the police to take such cases seriously, stressing the importance of understanding the intentions behind targeting Hindu girls to ensure justice for the victims.
