On Saturday, the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, addressed a gathering at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The occasion was Chotrul Duechen, celebrated on the 15th day of the 1st Tibetan month. This day holds significance as it commemorates four events in the life of Buddha. Over 3000 Tibetan followers, including monks, nuns, and foreigners from various parts of the world, attended the spiritual discourse.

Among the attendees was Gasela, a tourist from Spain, who described the experience as emotional and energizing. Youdon Aukatsang, an MP in exile, underlined the traditional significance of Chotrul Duechen within Tibetan culture. Noting that it coincides with Losar, the Tibetan New Year, Aukatsang emphasized the annual tradition of the Dalai Lama delivering teachings on this auspicious day. In the Year of the Dragon, such teachings hold particular importance, symbolizing guidance and wisdom for the Tibetan community.
