In a significant move towards enhancing Bharat’s railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for over 2000 railway infrastructure projects valued at approximately Rs 41,000 crore. This momentous occasion marks a milestone in the nation’s development trajectory, with a focus on modernizing railway stations and improving connectivity across the country.

Among the notable initiatives is the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including the Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow. Prime Minister Modi, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, laid the foundation stone for these transformative projects. The redevelopment aims to elevate these stations to global standards, providing modern amenities and enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of these projects in reflecting the ethos of ‘New India.’ He underscored the nation’s commitment to realizing ambitious goals with unprecedented speed and scale, setting the stage for a paradigm shift in India’s development narrative.

The redevelopment of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, with an investment exceeding Rs 19,000 crore, is poised to redefine urban landscapes by transforming these stations into vibrant ‘City Centres.’ This holistic approach seeks to integrate various facets of city life, fostering connectivity and economic growth.

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for the railway sector. He reiterated the government’s commitment to revolutionizing the industry, leveraging innovation and technology to meet evolving passenger demands.

The Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh stands as a shining example of this comprehensive redevelopment effort, undertaken at a cost of approximately Rs 385 crore. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as segregated arrival and departure areas, air concourse, food courts, and ample parking space, the station is poised to accommodate future passenger needs efficiently.

In addition to railway projects, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated and dedicated to the nation 1500 road bridges and underpasses across 24 states and Union Territories. With an investment exceeding Rs 21,520 crore, these projects are designed to alleviate congestion, enhance safety, and improve connectivity, further augmenting the efficiency of rail travel.

As Bharat embarks on this transformative journey in infrastructure development, Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and commitment to realizing the nation’s aspirations stand as a beacon of hope for a brighter future. With these landmark initiatives, Bharat is poised to emerge as a global leader in sustainable and inclusive development, setting new benchmarks for progress and prosperity.
