Fact-Finding Team En Route Sandeshkhali Arrested by Mamata Govt, Why Sheikh Shahjahan Still Absconds
Even as the TMC ministers were allowed to meet the residents in the unrest-hit Sandeshkhali, a six-member fact-finding committee in Bhojerhat, who was en route to meet victims were arrested by the West Bengal police, citing prohibitory orders. The team led by former Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice L Narasimha Reddy was tasked to probe allegations of human rights violations in Sandeshkhali. As the high-voltage drama unfolded, the TMC, which has been unable to arrest absconded TMC Leader Sheikh Shahjahan, accused the fact-finding independent committee of being backed by the BJP.
