#Pakistan Chaos, Protests Mar Newly Elected Assembly Meet | Shehbaz Sharif to Take Oath on 3rd March
Amid chaotic scenes and protests, Pakistan’s National Assembly on Thursday swore in newly-elected lawmakers of the Parliament days after general elections, marred by large-scale violence and uproar over vote rigging. As parliament was convened on Thursday, the supporters of jailed former PM Imran Khan’s PTI party held protests, repeatedly chanting “Vote Thief” when Shehbaz Sharif, who is expected to form the next government in Pakistan entered the parliament with brother Nawaz Sharif. Shehbaz Sharif is poised to take oath as Pakistan’s new Prime Minister on Sunday, 3rd March with the support of PPP and other regional parties, while PTI continues to protest against it.
