Why do some political parties and leaders in our country exhibit a streak of alignment with anti-national sentiments? It is puzzling that some leaders and political parties in our country tend to give undue importance to individuals who speak against Bharat, labeling them as intellectuals and forcing their opinions onto the public. Many viewers may not be familiar with Nitasha Kaul, who was Indian by birth but took up British citizenship some time ago.
Nitasha Kaul identifies herself as a professor, but she is a supporter of anti-Bharat sentiments. She has aligned herself with the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang, supporting views contrary to the interests of the nation. The Congress government in Karnataka invited her to speak at a conference, discussing the Constitution and the unity of Bharat on 24th and 25th February in Bangalore. It’s almost a mockery to invite an individual with such anti-national views to discuss the Constitution and unity of Bharat.
It is noteworthy that Nitasha Kaul, who claims to advocate for constitutional principles and national unity, opposes the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir. She, being a Kashmiri Pandit herself, contends that the violence against Hindus in the 1990s in Kashmir should be viewed as an empowered insurgency rather than a massacre. This controversial stance draws a parallel with the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, showcasing her contradictory views.
Nitasha Kaul, who openly supports the terrorist Burhan Wani on global platforms, has previously advocated for imposing sanctions on Bharat in the United States Congress. Despite being invited by the Congress government in Karnataka to speak on issues like the Constitution, social justice, and identity, she is known for spreading fake news and making anti-India statements.
However, Nitasha’s dream of speaking against Bharat turned into disappointment when, upon landing at Bengaluru Airport, she was denied entry through immigration and eventually sent back to her home country, Britain.
This incident sparked a political battle between the Congress and BJP, highlighting the contentious nature of her views.
Nitasha Kaul, who has expressed anti-India sentiments, not only supports the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang but has also dreamt of breaking Bharat into pieces, as evident from a tweet she made in 2019. In the tweet, she suggests that Kashmir, promised a plebiscite in 1947, should be separated from Bharat. Her tweet indicates a desire to divide Bharat, aligning herself with those who question the territorial integrity of the nation.
It is apparent that Nitasha Kaul, like other anti-India individuals, is contemplating strategies to separate Kashmir from Bharat. While she advocates for Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, it raises concerns about the motives of those who harbour dreams of breaking up the country. The question remains whether individuals with such intentions have the right to speak on any platform within the country.
In 2016, Nitasha Kaul tweeted allegations of human rights violations in Kashmir, presenting false claims in the US Congress. According to her, she testified to instances of human rights abuses in Kashmir, spreading misinformation about people being killed in the region. Her tweets and statements reveal a consistent pattern of attempting to create unrest and anti-India sentiments.
Nitasha Kaul’s dream of breaking Bharat into pieces becomes apparent through her actions. Whether it is supporting terrorists in Kashmir, promoting stone-pelting, or making anti-India statements abroad, she consistently strives to spread discontent in Bharat. Her efforts range from advocating for terrorism in Kashmir to making provocative statements against Bharat while being on foreign soil.
In 2018, Natasha Cole published a paper titled “India Obsession with Kashmir: Democracy, Gender, Anti-Nationalism.” In this paper, she pursued an anti-India agenda, falsely accusing Indian forces of sexual harassment against Kashmiri women. This reflects her long-standing approach of tarnishing Bharat’s image and engaging in propaganda against the country.
Nitasha Kaul, in a 2020 article titled ‘China: Xinjiang :: India: Kashmir,’ drew a comparison between the situation of Muslims in Kashmir and Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang under the Communist regime of Xi Jinping.
Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang face severe religious persecution, including restrictions on practicing their faith. They are prohibited from praying, subjected to force-feeding of pork, compelled to attend re-education camps, and face bans on religious clothing. In contrast, Muslims in Kashmir enjoy the freedom to openly practice their faith, offer prayers in mosques, and celebrate Islamic festivals without fear. The Indian government has implemented various welfare schemes for the residents of Kashmir.
Hence, the comparison between Kashmir and Xinjiang is not only superficial and lacks merit, but it also diminishes the gravity of the challenges faced by Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang.
Nitasha Kaul’s actions exemplify her willingness to go to any extent to propagate anti-India sentiments. Her consistent efforts to damage Bharat’s reputation and engage in false narratives demonstrate a troubling trend of misinformation and propaganda.
In the year 2022, the Indian American Muslim Council, an American organization, was found to be linked to terrorist organizations such as SIMI and Lashkar-e-Taiba. On the platform of this anti-India Indian American Muslim Council, individuals like Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur have shared the stage while propagating anti-India propaganda. Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur had faced allegations from the Kashmir Police, accusing him of causing harm to India’s sovereignty, resulting in the registration of a UAPA case against him.
Notably, Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur is the son of Muhammad Ayyub Thakur who himself has faced accusations of funding terrorists. An investigation by Scotland Yard in Britain revealed connections between Muhammad Ayyub Thakur and terrorist organizations. According to reports in The Telegraph, Mohammad Ayub Thakur’s organization, Mercy Universal, has direct links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
As people are aware, anti-India individuals are highly respected in Pakistan. Due to this, Nitasha Kaul has garnered many fans in Pakistan. She was invited to the Lahore Literary Festival in Pakistan, where she delivered anti-India statements, questioned India’s electoral system and democracy, and expressed criticism. In countries like Pakistan, where the public might not even understand the meaning of democracy, such statements have been exploited for propaganda against Bharat on a global scale.
Taking advantage of Nitasha’s statements, Pakistan has propagated anti-India narratives worldwide. In 2020, Pakistan’s government-run think tank, the Institute of Strategic Studies, organized a seminar on Kashmir. In this seminar, Pakistan’s then-President and the country’s Foreign Secretary, Ahmad Chaudhry, drew parallels between Nitasha Kaul ‘s statements and Hitler’s Nazi regime, comparing the Bharatiya government to authoritarian rule.
Nitasha Kaul ‘s statements are often utilized by institutions like ISI to plant individuals in Bharat, who disguise themselves in traditional Bharatiya attire, carrying laptops or books. These individuals, appearing as intellectuals, attempt to deceive the common people by using complex English words. Nitasha Kaul frequently stands against her own country on international platforms, regardless of her personal connection to the issues. Inviting such an individual to deliver a lecture in Bharat, especially someone harboring a dream of breaking the country into pieces, is a shameful situation.
