In a marathon 8-hour-long meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the Council of Ministers, delved into the intricacies of the vision document ‘Viksit Bharat 2047.’ The meeting, which took place on 3rd March, saw the participation of all Ministers, including Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State in concerned Ministries, and Ministers of State Independent Charge.
Sources reported that the Council of Ministers extensively discussed a detailed action plan for the next five years, with a focus on a 100-day agenda for rapid implementation post the formation of the new government in May 2024, following the general elections. The roadmap for Viksit Bharat, a culmination of over two years of intensive preparation, was revealed to involve a comprehensive, whole-government approach. This approach engaged all ministries and included wide-ranging consultations with State governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, and scientific organizations. The mobilization of youth played a crucial role, with more than 20 lakh youths providing suggestions and ideas through over 2700 meetings, workshops, and seminars.
The roadmap for ‘Viksit Bharat’ boasts a meticulously crafted blueprint, encompassing a national vision, aspirations, goals, and actionable points. The meeting’s significance is heightened as the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, has expressed confidence in securing a third term at the Centre. Prime Minister Modi, in numerous instances, has confidently asserted that India, under his leadership, will emerge as the third-largest economy globally during his third term. Clarifying that he is not seeking a third term for himself but for the nation’s service, he emphasized the transformative journey envisioned for India.
During his rallies, PM Modi resonated with the public-coined slogan, ‘Abki baar 400 par for NDA and over 370 seats for BJP,’ reflecting the collective aspirations for a resounding victory. On 2nd March, the central election committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced candidates for 195 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the Election Commission is expected to unveil the poll schedule in the coming weeks, with elections slated for April-May and the newly elected government anticipated to assume power in late May or June. The political landscape is abuzz with anticipation as the nation gears up for a crucial electoral season.
