In a shocking revelation, fifteen trainee police sub-inspectors (SI) have been detained on Monday for using unfair means to clear the Rajasthan Public Service Commission recruitment exam in 2021. According to the Special Operations Group (SOG), these candidates, including the topper, either obtained leaked question papers or employed dummy candidates to write their exams.
The SOG team took action on Monday morning and detained the trainee SIs at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) in Jaipur. Additionally, one trainee SI was detained from the Police Training School in Kishangarh, Ajmer, while two others were detained from their villages in Bhinmal and Gudhamalani. All fifteen individuals have been brought to the Jaipur SOG headquarters for further investigation.
Speaking to TOI, VK Singh, ADG of ATS and SOG, stated, “In 2021, RPSC conducted SI and Platoon Commander Recruitment 2021 exam. We have received information that a criminal gang leaked the paper and, after solving it and telling the answers to the candidates, recruited people to the post. After verifying the information, FIR has been registered.”
The paper leak reportedly occurred at an exam center in Jaipur, with Rs 20 lakh being paid for the question paper, according to an SOG official. The official also mentioned that a woman trainee, who was a suspect, has also been detained for further questioning.
The fraud came to light during the investigation into an SI trainee arrested from RPA on February 2 for deploying a dummy candidate in 2021. Out of the 670 trainee SIs currently undergoing training at RPA, nearly 25 were found to have passed the exam fraudulently during the probe.
Jagdish Vishnoi (41), the mastermind of the 2020 Junior Engineer Recruitment Exam, who was arrested on February 29, confessed to providing exam papers to the 2021 SI recruitment test candidates. Further interrogation revealed that out of the 670 trainee SIs at RPA, nearly 25 had passed the exam fraudulently.
The authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to identify all individuals involved in the cheating scam and to ensure that appropriate actions are taken against them. Such incidents undermine the integrity of recruitment processes and highlight the need for stringent measures to prevent cheating and maintain fairness in examinations.
