The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to spearhead the campaign after the Holi festival. Sources within the party have disclosed that PM Modi will commence the high-energy campaign across the country after March 25. The focus of the campaign is expected to be on the southern states, according to party insiders.
It has been revealed that PM Modi plans to hold over 150 public meetings during the election season, with a significant emphasis on Uttar Pradesh, where the BJP is currently led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A staggering 15 rallies are scheduled in Uttar Pradesh alone, demonstrating the party’s commitment to securing a strong foothold in the state.
A highlight of the campaign will be a mega roadshow planned for Prime Minister Modi in Varanasi on the day of his nomination for the Lok Sabha polls. This event is expected to draw significant attention and support from party loyalists and the general public alike.
While the official list of star campaigners is yet to be declared by the party, it is anticipated that several high-profile leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will actively participate in the election campaign, rallying support for the BJP across the country.
Despite the official announcement of election dates still pending, the BJP has taken a proactive approach by releasing its first list of 195 candidates. This list includes the names of 34 union ministers and numerous other prominent leaders. BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde unveiled the list, confirming that Prime Minister Modi will contest from his traditional Varanasi seat. Additionally, Amit Shah is set to contest from Gandhinagar in Gujarat, while Rajnath Singh will seek re-election from the Lucknow seat.
With the Lok Sabha elections expected to be held in April-May this year, the BJP has seized the first-mover advantage by initiating its campaign strategy well in advance. The party’s proactive stance, coupled with the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, underscores its determination to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming elections and further consolidate its position in Indian politics.
