The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee has revealed the list of candidates for the forthcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh.
The committee meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by senior leaders such as Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
Extending best wishes to all 60 candidates named by the Central Election Committee meeting, CM Pema Khandu stated, “I’m quite sure each of you will be a winner as the lovely people of the State have complete trust in our service to them marked by complete dedication and commitment.”
The announcement marks a significant development as several incumbent ministers and MLAs have been replaced in the candidate lineup for the impending elections. Notably, Chief Minister Pema Khandu is set to contest from Mukto (ST) constituency, while Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein will seek re-election from Chowkham (ST) constituency.
However, the reshuffling of candidates has resulted in the exclusion of some prominent figures, including Home Minister Bamang Felix, who lost the ticket from Nyapin constituency. Similarly, Horti-Agri Minister Tage Taki has been denied a ticket from Ziro constituency.
