Near Madar railway station in Ajmer, Rajasthan, four coaches and engine of a superfast train derailed. The incident took place at 1 am in the night.
‘Four coaches along with the engine of the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train derailed near the Madar railway station’, as per the officials.
No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident. The passenger said, ‘The incident happened at around 1:00 am and they were sleeping when suddenly they heard a loud noise’.
Rescue teams including Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) along with Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) and senior officials are on the spot. Efforts are underway to get the derailed coaches and the engine back on track.
‘No casualties were reported in the incident, while restoration work is going on. We hope our team will soon restore the site’, said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), North Western Railway, Captain Shashi Kiran.
The senior officials are also on the spot monitoring the restoration work. We have also set up a helpline number 0145-2429642,” he added.
