As the General Election 2024 schedule is unveiled by the Election Commission of India, Churachandpur district swiftly transitions into election mode, with the Model Code of Conduct or MCC taking precedence in all administrative activities.
In a press conference convened at the Mini-Secretariat complex, Additional District Election Officer Saurabh Yadav underscored the paramount importance of adhering to the MCC throughout the electoral process.
To uphold the integrity of the electoral process, citizens are cautioned against carrying cash exceeding Rs 50,000, as larger amounts could potentially be exploited for voter inducement or bribery. Furthermore, the possession of Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Liquor is strictly prohibited.
In a bid to curb illicit activities, specialised teams including Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams have been mobilised by the District Administration and the Police Department.
Model Code of Conduct District Nodal Officer Samuel Lhungdim urged citizens to utilise the c-VIGIL app for reporting any violations, enabling them to upload evidence while automatically pinpointing their location.
A dedicated media center, stationed at Room No. GF-8, Mini Secretariat Building, Tuibong, has been established to facilitate comprehensive media coverage of election proceedings and related activities.
Saurabh Yadav announced the provision of special polling stations for displaced voters at relief camps, encouraging all eligible individuals to avail themselves of these facilities by submitting their particulars through ID forms available at designated offices.
Moreover, the District Administration has instituted Seizure of Cash Committees and Monitoring Teams across various locations, with citizens urged to promptly report any violations to designated authorities for swift action.
