For the upcoming general elections, the parties have been carrying out the campaign after the detailed schedule was announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 16.
The gazette notification was released for the polling’s first phase. Notably, the voting in the first phase will be held in 102 parliamentary constituencies across 17 states and four Union territories (UTs) on April 19.
The counting of votes will take place on all 543 Lok Sabha seats on June 4.
Meanwhile, the nomination process for Ramtek and Nagpur in the Bharatiya state of Maharashtra starts on Wednesday, during the first of the seven phases of the upcoming general elections.
‘Ramtek and Nagpur will go in the first phase of the election, the nomination will started from 11 am onwards on Wednesday. The nomination timing will be from 11 am to 3 pm from March 20 to 27’, said Nagpur Collector Vipin Itankar.
He added, ‘The barricades are set up outside and arrangement is made for the candidate. We have already given the model code of conduct guidelines in Marathi and English to every political party’.
