Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha exhorted BJP leaders and workers to strive for a significant uptick of 10 per cent in vote share in every polling booth across the State for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Northeastern State, boasting two Lok Sabha seats – Tripura West and Tripura East – encompasses a total of 3,329 polling booths, gearing up for voting on April 19 and April 26, respectively.

Addressing a rally in Teliamura of Khowai district, CM Saha emphasised, “In our party’s executive meeting, we have decided to set a target to increase BJP’s vote share by 10 per cent in each polling booth. The party leaders and workers must work together to achieve the goal.”

Highlighting a dip in BJP’s vote share from 42 per cent in the 2018 Assembly polls to 39 per cent in 2023, CM Saha pointed towards the urgency of revitalising support ahead of the approaching elections.

Dismissing Opposition rhetoric against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019, CM Saha asserted its inapplicability in Northeastern States, thereby negating any substantial concerns raised.

Affirming the government’s dedication to indigenous welfare, CM Saha pointed out the BJP-IPFT-Tipra Motha coalition’s commitment to the region’s peace and development, evident through the signing of 11 accords with multiple groups by the Central Government.
