In a harrowing turn of events, the district of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh was rocked by tensions as two Hindu children fell victim to a brutal attack on Tuesday. The assailant, identified as Sajid, perpetrated the heinous act, resulting in the tragic demise of the innocent youngsters. Adding to the horror, a third child sustained severe injuries to the neck and was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Sajid, accompanied by his brother Javed, later encountered police forces and was fatally shot down in the aftermath.

Following the distressing incident, locals, including Mr. Dineshkumar Sharma, a teacher who had a close association with the deceased children and resided near the site of the gruesome murder, shared their accounts.

Mr. Sharma, shedding light on the bright academic and extracurricular achievements of the victims, lamented the cruel fate that befell them on Tuesday, March 19. “For over 5 years I have been teaching in our school. They were brilliant academically. They also participated in extracurricular activities. Recently, they had participated in the Luv-Kush play at our school,” recounted Mr. Sharma.

Eyewitness accounts and police reports indicate that Sajid, armed with a sharp-edged weapon, orchestrated a meticulously planned attack. The sequence of events unfolded when Sajid arrived outside the victims’ residence accompanied by Javed on a motorcycle. Sajid, then, entered the house and requested a loan of Rs 5,000 from the mother of the deceased children, exploiting a longstanding acquaintance. Despite the mother’s willingness to help, tragedy struck as Sajid and Javed carried out their brutal assault, leaving behind a scene of horror and grief.

Recalling the horrifying moment, Mr. Sharma recounted how he learned of the tragic murders while returning from a neighborhood temple. “I heard wails of people while returning from the temple along with my children. When I came here, I learned what had happened. Nobody in the locality could imagine such an incident would take place here,” he said.

Amidst the shock and disbelief, Mr. Sharma expressed bewilderment regarding the motive behind the merciless killings. “There was no animosity between them. The children’s mother was willing to loan an amount to them, and yet they killed them,” he added, emphasizing the sense of betrayal and anguish prevalent within the community.

Following the ruthless act, Sajid and Javed attempted to flee, exploiting the ensuing chaos. However, law enforcement agencies swiftly pursued Sajid, resulting in a fatal encounter where he uttered a desperate plea before succumbing to police gunfire. Meanwhile, Javed remains at large, evading justice.

In the wake of the tragedy, authorities recovered weapons and ammunition, underscoring the gravity of the situation. Additionally, one suspect has been apprehended, furthering efforts to bring those responsible to account under the law.

As the community grapples with shock and mourning, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the urgent need for justice to prevail in the face of such senseless violence.
