On Friday, Social activist Anna Hazare expressed his resentment over Arvind Kejriwal making liquor policies and stated that the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister is because of his own deeds.
Anna Hazare said, ‘I am very upset that Arvind Kejriwal, who used to work with me, raise his voice against liquor, is now making liquor policies. His arrest is because of his own deeds. But what will he do? Nothing works in front of power. The arrest has been made, now whatever will happen as per law will happen’.
However, Kejriwal had joined the Anna movement in 2011 against the then Congress government’s alleged corruption.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal withdrew from the Supreme Court his plea challenging arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
He was arrested by the investigation agency last night in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Earlier today, the Supreme Court refused to entertain BRS leader K Kavitha’s bail plea who was arrested last week in the same case.
However, the court issued a notice on her plea challenging certain provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21 came hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him protection from any coercive action by the agency.
