The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made significant progress in the investigation into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, which occurred on March 1, causing injuries to ten people. According to sources close to the matter, the NIA has detained Sai Prasad, a party worker, in connection with the case. Alongside Prasad, a mobile shop owner has also been detained for interrogation by the NIA.
In a recent press release, the NIA stated that they have successfully identified the individuals responsible for carrying out the IED blast at Rameshwaram Cafe. The main accused has been identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, with Abdul Matheen Taahaa as the co-conspirator, both hailing from Shivamogga.
Sai Prasad’s involvement in the case surfaced after investigations revealed that he had sold an old mobile phone to the accused mobile shop owner. This phone eventually made its way to Muzamil of Chikkamagaluru, who has been arrested and is currently under NIA custody. Muzamil was in contact with the prime suspects, Abdul Matheen Taahaa and Mussavir Hussain, using the mobile phone sold by Sai Prasad.
The NIA’s breakthrough came when they seized Muzamil’s mobile phone during his arrest and discovered that it belonged to Sai Prasad. Prasad’s name was allegedly mentioned by two mobile shop workers who were questioned by the NIA last week.
Sai Prasad has been taken in for questioning by the NIA and is believed to have connections to two suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. Last week, the NIA conducted raids in Shivamogga, targeting a mobile store and the residences of two suspects.
The blast at Bengaluru’s popular Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1 was caused by a low-intensity bomb triggered using a timer, as confirmed by investigators.
In a bid to expedite the investigation and apprehend the key suspects, the NIA announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for sharing information leading to the arrest of Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taahaa. The agency urged the public to come forward with any relevant information that could aid in resolving the case.
