Bharat's Defence Minister Warns of Cross-Border Action to Eliminate Fleeing Terrorists: Rajnath Singh

Bharat’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has issued a stern warning to terrorists operating in Pakistan. In an interview with CNN News18, he declared that Bharat would not hesitate to enter Pakistan to eliminate terrorists attempting to escape across the border after carrying out attacks in Bharat.

The statement from Mr. Singh comes in response to a report by Britain’s Guardian newspaper, alleging that Bharat has conducted operations in Pakistan since 2020, resulting in the deaths of 20 individuals as part of a broader strategy to target terrorists residing abroad.

The Bharatiya government has yet to officially comment on the Guardian’s report, while Pakistan’s foreign ministry declined to provide a statement.

Mr. Singh emphasized that while Bharat seeks to maintain positive relations with its neighbors, it will not tolerate repeated acts of terrorism directed towards Bharat. He reiterated Bharat’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.

Tensions between Bharat and Pakistan have escalated following the 2019 Pulwama attack, which Bharat attributed to Pakistan-based terrorists. This incident led to Bharat conducting an airstrike on a terrorist base in Pakistan.

Earlier this year, Pakistan claimed to possess credible evidence linking Indian agents to the killing of two Pakistani citizens on its soil. Bharat vehemently denied these allegations, dismissing them as false propaganda.

The Guardian’s report follows accusations from Canada and the United States regarding Bharat’s involvement in targeting Khalistani terrorists in those countries. Canada stated in September that it was investigating allegations linking Bharat to the death of a Sikh separatist leader, while the US claimed to have foiled an Bharatiya plot to kill another Sikh separatist leader.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to investigate any information regarding these allegations and reiterated Bharat’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in combating terrorism.

In conclusion, Bharat’s Defence Minister’s remarks underscore the country’s determination to root out terrorism. However, the situation highlights the complex geopolitical dynamics in the region and the challenges of addressing terrorism on an international scale.
