In an exclusive interview, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the critical significance of maintaining stable and peaceful relations between India and China for the benefit of the entire region and the world. Expressing optimism about the prospect of restoring and sustaining peace along the borders, Prime Minister Modi underscored the necessity of positive and constructive engagement at both diplomatic and military levels.

“It is my belief that we need to urgently address the prolonged situation on our borders so that the abnormality in our bilateral interactions can be put behind us. Stable and peaceful relations between India and China are important for not just our two countries but the entire region and world,” Prime Minister Modi stated during the interview.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between India and China over border disputes, with both countries engaging in diplomatic and military dialogues to de-escalate the situation.

During the wide-ranging interview, Prime Minister Modi also discussed various other topics including the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, relations with Pakistan, the Quad alliance, the Ram temple, and the significance of democracy.

When asked about ties with Pakistan, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s commitment to advancing peace, security, and prosperity in the region while advocating for an atmosphere free from terror and violence. However, he refrained from commenting on internal matters of Pakistan, including the imprisonment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Regarding the Quad alliance comprising India, the US, Australia, and Japan, Prime Minister Modi clarified that the group is not aimed against any specific country but rather focuses on shared positive agendas similar to other international groupings like SCO and BRICS.

Addressing criticism regarding the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, Prime Minister Modi encouraged observers to visit the region to witness firsthand the positive changes and development initiatives. He highlighted a significant decline in terror incidents and emphasized the peace dividend being reaped by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi spoke about the historic significance of the newly-inaugurated Ram temple at Ayodhya, describing it as a moment of unity for the nation and a culmination of centuries of perseverance and sacrifice.

On the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in his government’s track record of fulfilling promises and highlighted the increasing popular support for his administration, hailing India as “the mother of democracy.”

As India prepares for the upcoming elections, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the democratic spirit of the nation, with over 970 million eligible voters expected to exercise their franchise, reaffirming India’s commitment to the principles of democracy and governance by the people, for the people.
