Modi touted the success of his Jal Jeevan mission, claiming that over 11 crore families have benefited from the initiative. However, he alleged corruption in the implementation of similar schemes by the Congress party government in Rajasthan, implying that such malpractices hindered progress.
PM Modi said, “It is my mission to make sure water reaches every house and farmer in the country. In the last 5 years, Over 11 crore families have benefitted under the Jal Jeevan mission. Unfortunately, the Congress govt in Rajasthan did corruption in this also. Bhajanlal ji govt is conducting a probe into this. If there was no Congress govt in Rajasthan, then we could have reached our targets under the ‘ Har Ghar Jal’ scheme.”
Electoral Dynamics in Rajasthan
Rajasthan, with 25 Lok Sabha seats, holds significant electoral importance. The first phase of voting for 12 Lok Sabha seats in the state occurred recently, with the remaining 13 seats set for polling in the second phase on April 26th.
PM Modi’s remarks come amidst the intense electoral battle in the state, where the BJP seeks to consolidate its position while the Congress aims for a resurgence. The outcome of these elections will likely have ramifications on the national political landscape.
