PM Modi Criticizes Congress' Decline: Party Unable to Contest 300 Lok Sabha Seats, Says in Jalore Rally

In Rajasthan’s Jalore public rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress party, highlighting its diminishing influence in Bharatiya politics. He remarked that a party that once secured a whopping 400 seats in elections is now struggling to even field candidates for 300 seats in the current Lok Sabha elections.

Modi portrayed Congress as a symbol of instability, asserting that the electorate is penalizing the party for its past actions.

Congress’ Alleged Failures and Modi’s Criticism

PM Modi accused the Congress of failing to provide a robust government during its tenure, suggesting that it operated under external control.

He indirectly criticized Sonia Gandhi, a former Congress president, for opting for a Rajya Sabha seat, insinuating that such moves signify a lack of confidence in winning direct elections. Modi blamed the Congress for fostering dynastic politics and corruption, claiming that the party hollowed the country’s institutions.

Modi’s Assertion on Congress’ Inability to Govern

Asserting that the Congress and its alliances are ill-equipped to govern, Modi pointed out their inability to form a cohesive coalition. He highlighted the disunity within the Congress-led coalition, suggesting that it reflects a lack of coherence and strategic planning.

Modi underscored the importance of stability in governance, insinuating that the Congress’ internal strife makes it unfit to lead the country effectively.

Focus on Development Initiatives

PM Modi shifted the focus towards his government’s development agenda. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring access to water for every household and farmer across the country.

Modi touted the success of his Jal Jeevan mission, claiming that over 11 crore families have benefited from the initiative. However, he alleged corruption in the implementation of similar schemes by the Congress party government in Rajasthan, implying that such malpractices hindered progress.

PM Modi said, “It is my mission to make sure water reaches every house and farmer in the country. In the last 5 years, Over 11 crore families have benefitted under the Jal Jeevan mission. Unfortunately, the Congress govt in Rajasthan did corruption in this also. Bhajanlal ji govt is conducting a probe into this. If there was no Congress govt in Rajasthan, then we could have reached our targets under the ‘ Har Ghar Jal’ scheme.”

Electoral Dynamics in Rajasthan

Rajasthan, with 25 Lok Sabha seats, holds significant electoral importance. The first phase of voting for 12 Lok Sabha seats in the state occurred recently, with the remaining 13 seats set for polling in the second phase on April 26th.

PM Modi’s remarks come amidst the intense electoral battle in the state, where the BJP seeks to consolidate its position while the Congress aims for a resurgence. The outcome of these elections will likely have ramifications on the national political landscape.
