Hezbollah has acknowledged carrying out a rocket strike on the headquarters of the 3rd Infantry Brigade of the 91st Division at Ein Zeitim Base, asserting they fired “dozens” of Katyusha rockets. The assault reportedly retaliates against Israeli actions in southern Lebanese villages, including recent strikes on Srifa, Odaisseh, and Rab Tlatin, as per Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
In response, the Israeli military has confirmed around 35 rockets were launched from Lebanon into the Ein Zeitim area, causing no casualties. Israeli forces have retaliated by targeting the rocket launch sites.
Casualties have escalated on both sides since the conflict began. In Lebanon, according to AFP, at least 376 individuals, mostly Hezbollah fighters, and 70 civilians have been killed. Meanwhile, Israel has reported 10 soldiers and eight civilians dead.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have reached a critical juncture, with Iran cautioning against further provocations. Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani warned that any Israeli “mistake” would elicit a “harsher and more decisive” response.
Recent events near Isfahan, where explosions were heard, have intensified the situation. Iran denounced the alleged Israeli strike, stating its air defense thwarted the attack involving “a small flying object and micro air vehicle.”
On Sunday, rockets from northern Iraq targeted a Syrian military installation housing a US-led coalition. The coalition reported no injuries and stated they had taken out a launcher in self-defense in Iraq.
As Israel celebrated Passover, protests erupted demanding action for the 133 individuals held by Hamas in Gaza. Demonstrators gathered outside Prime Minister Netanyahu’s residence, urging measures for the hostages’ release.
In the US, tensions flared on university campuses over protests against the Israel-Hamas conflict. At Yale University, multiple arrests occurred during these demonstrations, while Columbia witnessed a large “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.” Some Jewish students at Columbia reported feeling intimidated and encountering instances of anti-Semitism during the protests.
Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 resulted in the deaths of 1,170 people, while Israel’s retaliation has claimed at least 34,151 lives in Gaza, primarily women and children.
