Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused the opposition of resorting to spreading fake videos in an attempt to sway the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Speaking at an election rally in Maharashtra’s Dharashiv district, Modi alleged that the opposition is misusing technology to circulate fabricated videos of him on social media platforms.
According to Modi, these fake videos are being circulated through what he referred to as the “Mohabbat ki dukaan” (shop of love), a term often used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his speeches. Modi asserted that the opposition is resorting to such tactics out of fear of losing the election.

While addressing the crowd, Modi expressed frustration over the continuous stream of false allegations against him by the opposition. He cited examples of claims that his government would abolish reservations and dismantle the Constitution, emphasizing that such accusations are baseless.
Modi shed light on the important representation of members from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) within the BJP.
The prime minister also condemned the creation and dissemination of fake videos, alleging that they are being produced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to manipulate his speeches and voice. He stressed on the fact that the Congress party is deeply concerned about the possibility of losing the election, prompting them to resort to such deceptive tactics.
Modi’s remarks come amidst a controversy surrounding an alleged ‘fake’ video featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah, where he is purportedly heard expressing opposition to reservations in the country. The BJP has since denounced the viral clip as fraudulent.
Additionally, addressing the issue of fake videos, Modi underscored the transformative initiatives undertaken by his government at the national level. He expressed his dedication to improving the lives of people across the country, contrasting it with what he perceives as the opposition’s singular focus on undermining his leadership.
Highlighting the failures of the Congress party, Modi criticized their track record of governance, particularly in Maharashtra. He accused the Congress of betraying the state and failing to deliver on essential promises, such as providing adequate water resources for farmers.
Prime Minister Modi’s accusations against the opposition for spreading fake videos underscore the intense political climate leading up to the Lok Sabha election.
As campaigning intensifies, the battle between parties is not only fought on policy issues but also on the battleground of misinformation and propaganda.
