Over 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) faced bomb threats via email on Wednesday morning, leading to a widespread evacuation of premises.
Among the targeted institutions were prestigious schools like Delhi Public School (DPS) units in Dwarka and Vasant Kunj, Mother Mary School in East Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, and DAV School in South West Delhi.
The threats prompted immediate responses from authorities, with thorough searches conducted in affected schools.
While no suspicious items were found in DPS Dwarka after the 6 am threat, precautionary closures were implemented in DPS Noida units as well. Parents were advised to retrieve their children due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
Investigations indicate that the threats were transmitted via email from outside India, possibly through VPNs to conceal the sender’s identity. Security agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, are actively pursuing leads to trace the origin of the emails.
The situation prompted the deployment of bomb detection teams, disposal squads, and fire service officials to conduct search operations in the affected schools. With a pattern emerging in the threat emails, authorities are intensifying efforts to ensure the safety of students and staff while investigating the matter further.;
