In a startling turn of events, around 100 schools in Delhi and its neighboring areas found themselves at the center of chaos as they received identical bomb threats via email.
This incident, occurring on Wednesday, prompted immediate evacuations and widespread panic among parents and school authorities alike. However, investigations later revealed that the threats were unsubstantiated, marking them as hoaxes, as no evidence of any dangerous materials was found during subsequent police searches.

Following this, the Delhi government swiftly took action by issuing a comprehensive advisory to educational institutions across the region.
In view of the bomb threats received by a few schools in Delhi today, Delhi Government’s Directorate of Education issues Advisory.

The directive, emanating from the Directorate of Education, GNCT Delhi, urged school administrators, managers, and heads to remain vigilant and promptly monitor their official email communications at all times, irrespective of school hours.
Furthermore, the advisory stressed the critical importance of school authorities promptly notifying district education officials and the Delhi Police upon detecting any suspicious or alarming content in their communications. This proactive approach aims to alleviate risks and swiftly address any potential threats to the safety and security of students and staff members.
Moreover, the directive underscored the necessity for effective communication channels between schools, parents, and law enforcement agencies.
Schools were urged to promptly alert parents and relevant authorities in the event of any perceived threats or challenges, ensuring swift and coordinated responses to safeguard the well-being of all stakeholders.
The alarming series of bomb threats targeted various prominent educational institutions in the Delhi-NCR area, including Mother Mary’s School in Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Amity School in Saket, and Delhi Public School (DPS) in Noida Sector 30, among others.
This coordinated campaign of threats sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the vulnerability of educational institutions to such disruptive acts. Fortunately, the swift action of law enforcement authorities, led by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, led to the identification of the perpetrators behind these hoax bomb threats.
Through meticulous tracing of virtual private network (VPN) traffic and internet protocol (IP) addresses, the police successfully pinpointed the source of the emails, shedding light on the sophisticated methods employed by the perpetrators to evade detection.
As the authorities continue their investigations into this alarming incident, there remains a collective call for heightened vigilance and proactive measures to safeguard educational institutions against future threats.
